How to Cancel Your Subscription
Last updated: May 29, 2026
If you need to adjust your business expenses, pause your creative campaigns, or switch to a different plan, canceling your subscription in Rella is simple and entirely self-serve.
About Subscription Cancellations
All paid plans in Rella are managed securely through our integration with Stripe. You can access your billing portal directly from your workspace settings.
Steps to Cancel Your Subscription
To manage your billing or cancel your plan, you must open Rella on a desktop web browser.
Navigate to your workspace and click Settings in the main sidebar.
Select Billing from the settings menu.
Under the Subscriptions header, scroll to the bottom of the page to find the billing portal controls.
Click the Manage Subscriptions button.
Rella will securely redirect you to our Stripe billing portal.
Note: If your browser blocks popups, a link will appear saying "If you are not redirected to our billing portal, click here." Click the link to open the portal manually.
Under your active plan details in the Stripe portal, click Cancel Plan.
Follow the prompts in the portal to confirm your cancellation.
Once completed, Stripe will redirect you back to Rella, and your subscription card will update to show your upcoming cancellation date.
What Happens to Your Account After Cancellation?
Understanding your access and account status after confirming your cancellation helps you transition your workflows smoothly.
Continued Access Until Your Period Ends
Your subscription and paid features do not terminate immediately when you click cancel. You will retain full access to all your plan benefits—including active Ella Workflows, custom Statuses, and advanced Persona memories—until the end of your current billing cycle. You can see your exact plan end date on your Billing screen.
Automatic Transition to Free Tier
On your next scheduled renewal date, your subscription will officially end. You will not incur any further renewal charges.
What Happens to Your Data?
Transitioning from a paid plan to our free tier will adjust your account boundaries, but Rella does not immediately delete your work.
Data Retention: Your drafted and scheduled Content cards, calendar items, Notes, Projects, and uploaded Media files are kept safe. Rella does not wipe or delete your creative assets simply because your subscription ends. If you would like your data deleted, please delete your account.
Member Seats: If your team has multiple members, your entire Organization will not longer have access to Rella until you re-subscribe.
Subscription Cancellation FAQs
Why don't I see the Manage Subscriptions button?
To protect your sensitive financial details and subscription agreements, the billing dashboard is strictly restricted. Only the Admin of the Organization has the authority to view or change subscriptions. If your role in the space is Member, Viewer, or Collaborator, the billing panel and Manage Subscriptions button are hidden.
Can I change my mind and resume my plan?
Yes. If your current billing cycle has not finished yet, you can return to Settings > Billing, click Manage Subscriptions to open the Stripe portal, and click Renew Plan to cancel your pending cancellation. If your cycle has already ended, you can re-subscribe to any paid tier directly from your billing sheet in Rella.
How do I cancel a free trial?
If you are on a free trial, your trial will automatically expire on its scheduled end date unless you explicitly added a payment card to upgrade. To prevent any automatic renewal charges if you have a card on file, follow the same cancellation steps above before your trial end date to set the subscription to cancel at the end of the trial.
