Organize Your Media Assets by Folders
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Managing campaign images, vertical video drafts, and graphic designs across multiple clients can get disorganized fast. Rella’s Media library lets you catalog, arrange, and find your files in seconds by sorting your assets into secure, custom Media folders.
About Media Folders
Your Media tab is the central hub for all creative assets inside your Social Space. Instead of scrolling through a single, cluttered grid of uploads, you can build custom folder structures—including nested subfolders—to keep your campaigns, platforms, or client divisions organized.
Every folder lets you group both photos and videos, drag and drop files to reorganize your workspace, and safely manage your assets when removing old folders.

How to Create a Media Folder
You can build folders at the primary directory level of your gallery or nest them inside existing folders to create subdirectories.
Navigate to the Media tab from your main sidebar.
Click the Create Folder button (represented by the folder icon with a Plus symbol) in the top-right corner.
In the Create Folder dialog, type a name in the Folder name field (e.g.,
Q2 Instagram ReelsorSummer Campaign Assets).Note: Rella will show you a helpful context label: "This folder will be created inside 'Parent Folder'" if you are currently inside a folder, or "This folder will be created at the top level of your library" if you are at the root.
Click Create (or Add folder) to save.
How to Move Media into Folders
Rella supports fast, interactive drag-and-drop actions to organize your gallery.
Select one or more files in your Media grid.
Drag the selected files and hover over the target folder icon.
Release the click to drop the files inside.
Alternatively, select the files, click the More Options (...) menu, select Move to, and choose your destination subdirectory from the folder tree picker.
How to Delete a Media Folder
When a campaign ends and you want to clean up your workspace, you can delete old folders. Rella protects you from losing assets by asking how you want to handle the files inside.
Open your Media gallery.
Locate the folder you want to remove, click its More Options (...) menu, and select Delete.
In the Delete folder? dialog box, select your deletion mode:
Move everything inside to the top-level of my gallery: This deletes the folder container and its subfolders, but safely moves all your Media files back to the top level (root directory) of your library so you don't lose any assets.
Delete everything inside: This permanently deletes both the folder container and all the media files inside it.
Click the red Delete folder button to confirm.
Media Folders FAQs
Can I create folders inside other folders?
Yes. Rella supports nested subfolders. To build a nested directory, open an existing folder in your gallery, click Create Folder, and the system will automatically nest the new directory inside your active folder.
What happens to my calendar posts if I choose "Delete everything inside" on a folder?
If you select Delete everything inside, any image or video file inside that folder will be permanently deleted from your library. If those files were attached to any drafted or scheduled Content cards on your Calendar, they will automatically be unlinked, leaving those posts without media.
Can client reviewers see my Media folders?
No. Your Media library is an internal workspace. While you can share individual media files or draft posts with clients for review, external clients cannot see, browse, or edit your internal Media folder directories.
