To prevent failed posts and ensure optimal visual quality on native feeds, Rella automatically validates your uploaded photos, videos, and documents against each social media platform's strict technical guidelines.

This page serves as the source of truth for Rella's supported media file formats, size limits, and aspect ratios.

Supported Image Formats

Different platforms accept different image file types and size limits. If you upload an image in a format that needs to be adjusted for publishing, Rella usually handles that conversion for you automatically.

For example, Rella may convert uploaded images into a platform-friendly format at publish time to help make sure your post goes through successfully. In most cases, you do not need to manually re-save or reformat the image before publishing.

If an image has a technical format issue, Rella handles it automatically. If a post still needs a creative change, such as cropping or resizing that affects how the image looks, Rella will flag it for your review.

Instagram Reels & Stories

  • Aspect Ratios:

    • Reels: Recommended vertical 9:16 (supported range: 0.01 to 10).

    • Stories: Recommended 9:16 (supported range: 0.1 to 10).

    • Posts: Uniform aspect ratio is required across all carousel slides (supported range: 0.75 to 1.91).

  • Duration limits:

    • Reels: 3 to 900 seconds (15 minutes).

    • Stories / Posts: 3 to 60 seconds.

  • Technical Video Specifications:

    • Max Video File Size: 300MB (for Reels) or 100MB (for Stories).

TikTok Videos

  • Aspect Ratio: Recommended vertical 9:16 (supported range: 0.01 to 10).

  • Duration Limits: 1 to 600 seconds (10 minutes).

  • Technical Video Specifications:

    • Max Video File Size: 4 GB.

    • Supported Video Formats: .mp4, .webm, .mov.

    • Dimensions: Width/height must be between 360px and 4096px.

    • Frame Rate: 23 to 60 FPS.

YouTube Videos & Shorts

  • Aspect Ratios:

    • Shorts: Recommended vertical 9:16 (supported range: 0.5 to 1.0).

    • Videos: Horizontal 16:9 is standard.

  • Duration limits:

    • Shorts: 2 to 180 seconds (3 minutes).

    • Videos: 1 second to 12 hours (43,200 seconds).

  • Technical Video Specifications:

    • Max Video File Size: 256 GB.

    • Important: Title, caption, or hashtags cannot contain the characters < or > due to YouTube API restrictions.

LinkedIn Videos & Documents

  • Aspect Ratio: Supported range: 0.01 to 10.

  • Duration Limits: 3 to 1,800 seconds (30 minutes).

  • Technical Video Specifications:

    • Max Video File Size: 500MB (Min: 75KB).

    • Max Video Width: 1920px.

  • Document Auto-Publishing Specs:

    • Rella supports auto-posting a single PDF document directly to LinkedIn.

    • Max Document File Size: 100MB.

Pinterest Videos

  • Aspect Ratio: Supported range: 0.5 to 1.91 (vertical to horizontal).

  • Duration Limits: 4 to 900 seconds (15 minutes).

X (formerly Twitter) Videos

  • Aspect Ratio: Supported range: 0.33 to 3.

  • Duration Limits: 0.5 to 140 seconds (2 minutes and 20 seconds).

  • Technical Video Specifications:

    • Max Video File Size: 512MB.

    • Dimensions: Between 32x32px and 1280x1024px.

    • Frame Rate: 23 to 60 FPS.

Threads Videos

  • Aspect Ratio: Supported range: 0.01 to 10.

  • Duration Limits: 1 to 300 seconds (5 minutes).

  • Technical Video Specifications:

    • Max Video File Size: 1GB.

    • Max Video Width: 1920px.

Google Business Profile Photos

  • Media Limit: Maximum of 1 photo.

  • Overage warning: Google Business Profile does not support video auto-publishing in Rella at this time. Multi-photo posts are also blocked.
